Itinerary

After a short safari briefing in the morning, you will travel southwest towards the Tarangire National Park. The park has a diversity of landscapes including grass, acacia woodlands and forests and it is a popular place for its huge elephant herds and animals gathering at the river and swamps. Animals range from swarms of yellow breasted lovebirds to kudus, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and impalas. Did you Know that, the park also boasts over 550 different bird species? and the most diverse in Africa, including the Kori Bustard, the heaviest flying bird in the World! Predators include lions, leopards and hyenas, while wild dogs are rare. In the late afternoon, you will leave the park to travel to your accommodation where you will spend the night.

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the fascinating wildlife arena of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a “one not to miss” safari destination in Africa. Home to more than 25,000 large mammals, it is not unusual to see all of the ‘Big Five’ (buffalo, elephant, rhino, lion and leopard) in a single day. The crater named, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is over 260km² (100 miles²) and was formed when a massive volcano exploded and collapsed on itself 2 – 3 million years ago. It is now the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world and often referred to as “Africa’s Eden”. Driving through the Ngorongoro Highlands, you will arrive at the crater rim and then descend down 610m (2000 ft) onto its floor to start your wildlife game viewing. Late afternoon you will start your journey back to your hotel in Arusha or transfer to ARUSHA AIRPORT OR KILIMANJARO AIRPORT.
